RFA: Regional Alzheimer’s Disease Caregiver Support Initiative

On July 20th, the New York State Department of Health (DOH) released a Request for Applications (RFA) for funding through the Regional Alzheimer’s Disease Caregiver Support Initiative. This initiative provides support to informal caregivers of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias (AD/D). Through this RFA, DOH will provide a total of $82.5 million over five years to 11 organizations that conduct outreach and provide a comprehensive array of support services for caregivers in the community. DOH will fund one award in each of the 11 regions outlined in the RFA. Eligible applicants are not-for-profit organizations and government entities that have demonstrated capacity and experience serving individuals living with AD/D and their caregivers throughout the region for which they are applying.

The first RFA for this initiative was released in 2015 and provided awards to 10 organizations who are currently funded through December 31, 2021.

SPG’s summary of the opportunity and the full RFA are attached. Applications are due on October 15th.
