Funding Opportunity: Optimizing Virtual Care for FQHCs

On May 17th, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the 2022 Optimizing Virtual Care awards under the Health Center Program. The purpose of this one-time funding is to support health centers in developing, implementing, and evaluating innovative, evidence-based strategies that:

  • Optimize the use of virtual care to increase access and improve clinical quality for underserved communities and vulnerable populations; and
  • Can be adapted and scaled across the Health Center program.

HRSA anticipates funding approximately 25 grants with up to $2 million each (up to $1 million per year for two years). Contracts are expected to begin on March 1, 2022. Eligible applicants include organizations currently receiving Health Center Program operational grant funding. Awarded applicants will receive one-time awards through this grant that may be used for direct or indirect costs. One-time grant awards are separate and distinct from Health Center Program operational awards.

Applications are due on July 16th. The full NOFO is available here.
