On October 19th, the New York State Department of Health (DOH) Center for Community Health released a Request for Applications (RFA) for the Comprehensive Family Planning and Reproductive Health Program. Through this program, DOH will provide up to $49.3 million in total annual funding to support the provision of comprehensive family planning and reproductive health services. Approximately 40 to 50 organizations will be awarded throughout New York State.
Applicants must be governmental and/or not-for-profit Article 28 health care facilities with a minimum of three years of experience providing comprehensive family planning and reproductive services. Of the available funding, 40 percent will be allocated to programs in New York City and 60 percent will support programs in the rest of the state. Individual award amounts will be based on family planning client volume and the number of counties that the applicant proposes to serve, as detailed in the RFA. Supplemental funding may be awarded to applicants who serve priority populations for the program, including rural populations, clients with incomes under 100 percent of the Federal Poverty Level, and clients under age 25. Contracts will last for five years beginning on July 1, 2021.
Applications are due on December 17th. The full RFA is attached.
