On January 30th, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment released a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for the Residential Treatment for Pregnant and Postpartum Women grant program. Under this grant, providers provide treatment for substance use disorders to pregnant and postpartum women in programs in which:
- The women reside in or receive outpatient treatment services from facilities provided by the programs;
- The minor children of the women reside with the women in such facilities if the women so request;
- The services are available to or on behalf of the women; and
- The services are operated at a location that is accessible to low-income women and are provided in the language and cultural context that is most appropriate.
SAMHSA will award approximately $1.8 million in total funding to eligible organizations that conduct outreach and provide substance abuse treatment and case management services to pregnant and postpartum women and their families.
