RFA: CSIDD and Resource Center Region 3 Implementation

On December 1st, the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) released a Request for Applications (RFA) for the implementation of Crisis Services for Individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (CSIDD) and the operation of a Resource Center in the Capital District, Hudson Valley, and Taconic areas (OPWDD Region 3).

CSIDD is a Medicaid State Plan service for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities who have significant behavioral or mental health needs. CSIDD is a time-limited crisis service designed to help stabilize individuals within their existing care networks. Resource Centers are short-term community-based support services in a home-like setting for individuals who are unable to access other community respite supports.

Through this RFA, OPWDD intends to award one not-for-profit organization to provide CSIDD and operate a Resource Center in Region 3. Funding available through this RFA is intended to support program start-up, during which the successful applicant matures the program and builds caseloads. These “gap funds” will cover the operating cost differences between the total spending and the amount the successful applicant will receive in Medicaid payments.

The RFA is available here, and our summary can be found here. Applications are due on January 12, 2022 and required Letters of Intent are due on December 10th.
