RFP: Medical and Dental Services for Justice-Involved Youth

On September 16th, the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the provision of comprehensive medical and dental services to youth who are in ACS’ care in Brooklyn and the Bronx. The goals of the RFP are to:

  • Ensure an enhanced continuum of medical and dental care consistent with quality standards for care of youth housed in juvenile detention facilities;
  • Provide individualized care coordination and discharge planning to promote access to high-quality health services in youth’s home communities for continuity; and
  • Educate and coach youth on the importance, availability, and utilization of community-based health resources and supportive networks.

ACS will award more than $19 million in total funding over three years to one organization that is experienced in pediatrics/adolescent medicine and that will deliver culturally and linguistically appropriate services. Eligible applicants must have at least three years of experience providing comprehensive health services to youth between the ages of 11 and 21, including routine ambulatory care, care coordination, dental services, and health education.

A summary of the RFP is attached. The RFP documents may be accessed in the New York City PASSPort portal here. Applications are due on October 29th. There will be a virtual pre-proposal conference on September 28th at 1pm that can be accessed here.
