RFA: CDC HIV Prevention Programs

On September 21st, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a Request for Applications (RFA) for community-based organizations to develop and implement high-impact HIV prevention programs for the following populations:

  • Category A: Young (13-34 years) men of color who have sex with men and their partners, regardless of age, gender, and race/ethnicity; or
  • Category B: Young (13-34 years) transgender persons of color and their partners, regardless of age, gender, and race/ethnicity.

Applicants may apply for funding to deliver services to one of the two target populations above. CDC will award 30 applicants with approximately $350,000 in annual funding. Contracts will begin on April 1, 2022 and last for five years.

Programs should implement strategies and activities that prevent new HIV transmission, link clients to HIV prevention and care services, and refer clients to and provide essential support services that aid in reducing HIV-related disparities and health inequities.

Eligible applicants must have experience providing HIV prevention services and must receive written consent for the provision of services from the state or local health department.

The RFA is available here. Letters of Intent are due on October 4th and applications are due on November 19th. Questions may be submitted to Erica Dunbar at egd8@cdc.gov.
