The New York State (NYS) Department of Health (DOH) has posted the slides from its June 13th webinar on how providers can align their risk-sharing payment models with both federal Medicare and NYS Medicaid program requirements. Under the Medicare Access and Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (MACRA), eligible clinicians serving Medicare members must join the Quality Payment Program (QPP), which has two tracks:
- The Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS); and
- Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs).
Meanwhile, NYS has established goals for its Medicaid providers to participate in risk-sharing value-based payment (VBP) arrangements through the NYS VBP Roadmap. The State is seeking to help providers who serve both Medicare and Medicaid patients reconcile these programs.
