RFA: Mobile Medication Units (MMUs)

On November 9th, the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) released a Request for Applications (RFA) for the development of Mobile Medication Units (MMUs). OASAS will allocate up to $2 million in total funding available from the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant to support Opioid Treatment Centers (OTPs) with the development of MMUs.

OASAS will provide one-time funding of up to $200,000 to one provider in each of the 10 Empire State Development Regions (regions are identified in Attachment A). Providers that operate multiple OTPs may apply for awards in more than one region; however, a separate application will be required for each region. Eligible applicants are voluntary agencies or other not-for-profit organizations that currently operate OASAS-certified OTPs. Awarded applicants will require full approval from OASAS, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to operate the MMU.

The full RFA is available here, and our summary can be found here. Applications are due on December 6th. Awards are expected to be announced on December 22nd.
