On August 11th, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a proposed rule that would update the requirements for the PACE program. Under the proposed rule, the PACE program would adopt many of the requirements that currently exist in the Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D programs for monitoring and compliance. The rule also proposes new requirements for change of ownership notification and personnel matters, such as Interdisciplinary Team staffing and personnel qualifications.
CMS will accept comments on the proposed rule until October 17th. The proposed rule is available here. A summary of the rule is attached.
