OASAS RFA for Withdrawal and Stabilization Services

On October 26th, the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) released a request for applications (RFA) for organizations to develop and operate up to 75 Medically Supervised Withdrawal and Stabilization beds throughout New York State. Up to $10 million in capital funding and $2.25 million in annual ongoing operational funding is available through this RFP.

Programs must provide individuals who have substance use disorder (SUD) with medically supervised detoxification and withdrawal services 24 hours per day, seven days per week in a safe, community-based environment.

Applicants must not add to or extend existing Part 816.7 programs. They may either create a new freestanding facility or add to an existing facility that provides other services. Awards are subject to the following bed requirements:

  • Applicants seeking to add or extend an existing facility (that currently lacks Part 816.7 beds) may apply for between 8 and 25 beds.
  • Applicants seeking to create a new freestanding facility may apply for between 16 and 25 beds.

The full RFA is available here, and a summary is also attached. Applications are due on December 28th.
